Featuring a team of highly skilled design engineers our design-engineering suite
houses both a hardware and software department; the latter of which is sub-divided
into PC software and embedded software engineers. The two departments work closely
together utilising each other’s capabilities to provide clients with a comprehensive
electronics design service.
Our hardware department utilises various micro-controllers including Motorola Microchip
and Rabbit along with embedded Linux based systems whilst our PC Software team employ
Microsoft Visual C++ and Borland C Builder. To unite the hardware and software functions
our engineers rely on various protocols including RS232, RS485, CAN and TCP/IP to
name but a few.
The engineers also make use of our in-house CNC machining centre, which enables
us to produce a variety of mouldings e.g. for the provision of prototypes and also
eliminates the requirement for the external engineering therefore reducing time
and cost.
We also boast a cutting-edge manufacturing department, which features high-volume
surface mount facilities, pick and place and wave soldering machinery. Our manufacturing
capacity ensures we do not out-source contract work and allows for our engineers
to maintain regular contact with the product through production enabling constant
monitoring of product quality and support of the Just-In-Time (JIT) inventory systems.
As our products are customised to a client’s specific requirements we design and
build our own automated computer-controlled test facilities of a standard that’s
only usually found within much larger companies.
At FAW Electronics we maintain full management of the product from the initial concept
design stages right through to production, manufacturing and despatch.
FAW Electronics is a UK registered company (Company registration number 4524627).
